1980s ECML Scenario Pack

This is a scenario pack for the East Coast Mainline southern sections, that I’ve built to try to capture a small selection of late 80s BR passenger operations. There are 4 scenarios, which add a combined 395 minutes of drive time. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Scenarios:

A: 1N14 2100 King’s Cross to Newcastle Newcastle (1983)

Description: Drive one of the many overnight postal services north from The Cross as far as Doncaster.

Length: 155 mins

Traction: BR Blue Class 40

A duplicate version of this scenario is included, prefixed [No-40] which omits the discontinued Class 40 and replaces it with 37s for a similar look.

B: 2C55 1825 Royston - King’s Cross (1987)

Description: In their first year of service on the outer-suburban services, drive a 317/2 on a limited-stop service from Royston on a pleasant summer evening.

Length: 65 mins

Traction: BR Blue-Grey Class 317/2

C: 1N02 0730 King’s Cross - Newcastle (1986)

Description: Drive an InterCity 125 service north to Peterborough, with a stop at Stevenage

Length: 60 mins

Traction: IC-Executive High Speed Train

D: 3C80/1C80 1705 King’s Cross - Cambridge (1989)

Description: On a freezing February evening run empty from Hornsey into the capital then form the 8-car 1705 rush-hour service to Cambridge, dividing at Royston.

Length: 115 mins

Traction: 2x NSE/BR Blue-Grey 317/2

Notes:

Scenarios have been built using real WTTs, prototypical allocations and timing loads where possible.

Scenarios A and C include pre-loads which should be run before loading the relevant scenario to mitigate crash dumps.

I have included a duplicate version of Scenario A which replaces all instances of the Class 40 as it is no longer available to buy.
