This enhancement serves to improve the visuals of the default Washington-Baltimore route for Train Sim Classic, covering the Northeast Corridor from Washington Union Station to Baltimore Penn Station.
Focus on this revamp is improving the trackside experience, with particular attention paid to the areas around stations and any locations where roads directly parallel the NEC, such as in Odenton and Bowie. The previously barren Odenton Amtrak MoW facility has also received attention, adding in floodlights, trackpads, scattered equipment and material. Foliage has also been modified, patching barren spots along the tracks where 3d foliage was missing. All track has been replaced with LPM’s excellent track pack.
LPM Track Pack: Critical. WIthout this pack you will not have any railroad tracks.
Important. Used for trackside clutter, some trackside buildings.
LPM Track Pack V2: Critical. WIthout this pack you will not have any railroad tracks. The direct link to the download has been removed due to the mega.nz path changing regularly. Please navigate through SPS's site to find the LPM Track Pack V2 (should be under Downloads -> TSC - Scenery -> LPM Track Pack V2)
The eastern segment of BNSF’s famed and busy Hi-Line Subdivision crosses the magnificent and fertile high plains of Montana – and the remarkable experiences of railroading in America’s “Big Sky Country” now comes to Train Simulator with the Montana Hi-Line route!
Highly important. Used for most trackside clutter and detailing.
Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor: It is a crown jewel of American railroading. And the bustling southern portion of the “NEC” – from Baltimore, Maryland, to America’s capital city – now comes to Train Simulator!
Critical. Enhancement will not work without the base route.
VP Tree Pack V2: Moderate. Used for some trackside foliage and brush.
was_bal_scenery_enhancement.zip to the directory of your choosing...\..\Railworks\Content\Routes\00000097-0000-0000-0000-000000002021 directory. This is the directory for the Washington-Baltimore route.Content from the was_bal_scenery_enhancement directory to your Railworks directory (..\..\Railworks)This is my first experience with the TS1 Route Editor and the changes are not exhaustive. I decided that I wanted to release my first version prior to Thanksgiving 2024 and v1 reflects the latest work accomplished before that point. Scenery work will continue in the future, with attention paid to the Amtrak Ivy City facilities, littering all of Maryland with their state flag, and potentially attempts at custom assets for billboards, Baltimore and DC area transit buses, static rapid transit vehicles, and custom buildings.
A known issue is that the track replacement for LPM tracks eliminated all Hayes buffer stops. These will be added in a future update.
