'Airport Express' is not a express service on Tung Chung Line (which share track on some section), but a seperate line, similar to Gatwick Express and Southern.
As said, this livery 'creating an image that would not date.' Indeed especially when most MTR (before merge with KCR)'s train are plain white livery, Airport Express truly stand out from the other routes.
Basically the same train as the TCL's A-Train, AEL (Airport Express Line) and TCL A-Train both has VVVF and Regen brake, the first train equiping them in MTR system. AEL A-Train start carrying the Blue-Cyan-Grey livery as they enter service in 1998. A-Train was also the first Modern MU in Hong Kong that was not produced by English Manufactor.
A-Train will not recieve Refurbrishment and will be replaced by CRRC MU in future.
Due to DTG set the gangway door as 'side' not 'front', I did not spend the effort of producing MTR's Logo at front.
