43146 - Intercity With Claret Stripe

During the early part of 1993, Intercity toyed with updating their house colours; replacing the Flame Red stripe with Claret. Power Cars, 43010, 43139, 43140 & 43146 - along with Trailer First, 41124 - received the livery modification, but reaction to the change was poor ("dull" being the main assessment) and all vehicles reverted to the standard livery later. That said, the claret was completely ignored, as stations managed by Intercity received new name boards carrying claret stripes.
