KORAIL 7400 series was a slightly modified version of KORAIL 7300 series, which is a varient of EMD GT26CW-2, similar to the SD40-2. With a top speed of 150kph and 3000hp, these are labled as mixed traffic locomotive. They could be seen operating the Mugunghwa (Rose Mallow, national flower of South Korea) Service, around the 2nd class in KORAIL long distance service, with the ITX-Saemaeul and Nurico as the highest class.
According to Korean Wikipedia, the Mugunghwa service will likely to cease around 2027 as the carriages will be inoperational at that time. It will likely use MU to replace it, similar to how Saemaeul was upgraded to ITX Saemaeul with modern MU.
