Hello Train Sim Community fans. Since the release of Scenario Planner some time ago, it became obvious to me at least that, it suffered from being able to start at any station/siding or depot and as a result, it made the experience of creating scenarios cramped. Scenario Planner Path Expander, not only adds far more stations, sidings, depots or portals but, it also reworks pathing for trains so that they are in line to what the train paths are like in real life.
If you believe such train path is either missing or incorrectly setup, please leave a comment below or join the TSC discord and send me a direct ping and ill be happy to correct this.

03/04/25 - Intial release v1.0.
Fully reworked routes for Scenario Planner:
- Bakerloo Line now has over 100paths to choose from where as before, it only had 6paths.
- EustonToMiltonKeynes now has over 300paths to choose from where as before, it only had 125paths.
Present Bugs:
- Class 350 has its pantograph down for Ai services. As a result, it runs on DC mode so, it's speeds is affected by this. This is a game issue. Nothing to do with Scenario Planner Path Expander.
- Class 378 has its pantograph up for Ai services. This is a game issue. Nothing to do with Scenario Planner Path Expander.
- Class 390, despite having its pantograph up, it runs on DC mode so it's speeds is affected by this. This is a game issue. Nothing to do with Scenario Planner Path Expander.
- Headlights on all trains (excluding 72TubeStock) are fricking bright. This is a game issue. Nothing to do with Scenario Planner Path Expander.
- Unsure whether this one is a bug with the core route but, If you are stuck at a red light, try pressing 'TAB' button on keyboard and select "Contact Dispatcher" and hopefully the dispatcher with update your path.
- Unsure whether this one is a bug with the core route but, If you start a scenario at a siding or depot, you may need to manually set the track switch points, so be sure to check before heading down the line.
- When selecting portals as a start point for ai specific services, you may run into a problem where, trains may couple up together which makes the trains silly long. This is a game issue. Nothing to do with Scenario Planner Path Expander.

What route will be reworked next
Haven't decided yet as im still working on WCMLS. when I'm done with WCMLS, I'll take a look at the routes installed on my end and see what i want to do next and, once i have another route in the pipeline, I'll be sure to list that here in the description section of this page.
If you could do any thing for Peak Forest that would be a great improvement for the route.
That was originally for TSW3. Since i had help from the community to get me on the right track to create this mod, the ability to scale back to tsw3 or older routes may be abit tricky as the method I'm currently using is only working for TSW4 and TSW5 routes.
if you also have routes for TSW4 native or TSW5 native, let me know and I'll add it to a list of routes to rework for scenario planner.
Thank you, so this doesnt alter the current timetables or adds any new timetables, this just allows for options to be created for scenarios correct?
If you look ay ECML can you add your EMR 170 repaint to the options along with Hull trains repaints on the 801s. can AI services be created where a train only stops at one of the stations and drives off map or passes through all stations without stopping (thinking of Lumo for the latter and the Great Northern at Peterborough repaint permitting, Northern at Retford (using a 170 repaint as the look is similar to a 195) then EMR 158 and Northern + transPennine options (should there be repaints for similar looking rolling stock) for Doncaster..
Only just started playing trainsim since the steam sales and while Im enjoying it, what Ive come to realise is this game on some DLCs is seriously lacking in realistic AI immersion for those routes with modern trains ie no Thameslink for BML FFS! and dont get me started on the lacking immersion around Clapham junction. Driving services is what we enjoy the most but train spotting when you want a break is brilliant when done right, ie Fawx WCML timetable where repaints are created as PAK files as to allocate them individually!
Just have to say thank goodness for PC capabilities vs console and modders who go out of their way to improve peoples experience!
For my scenario planner path expander, it only modifies Scenario Planner. It does not alter timetable for any routes.
thanks @ColeTheGamer2048.. and yes to @ADSTRAINSUK but its ok it isn't a timetable substitute..
If anyone who is up to speed on timetables creations, ECML could do with an upgrade ;) lol
Sorry to disappoint, my knowledge when i try to create an actual timetable is slim or null, which is why i have descided to revamp Scenario Planner to add missing stations/portals so its feels close to an actual timetable.
it can be sub but it isnt quick thing to do
Not disappointed at all and thank you for your time an effort in wanting to improve everyone's experiences with this game....
I think I had high expectations that TSW might be similar to flightsim or any other simulator and while I am enjoying it and understand the time/effort that go into creating the scenery + locos I still feel like there's something (some things are) missing but since coming here to this community some of those areas have been met and then some!
Did you mean you wanted an upgrade to ECML on Scenario Planner?
No, would like a new timetable version for ECML to include Hull Trains services + Lumo ai using the current 801 to represent, Great northern on the 700s (for their 717), 377 (for their 379) and 380s (387) just to represent them as AI only services terminating and starting from Peterborough, EMR 170s, Northern at Retford (using a 170 repaint as the look is similar to a 195) then EMR 158 and Northern + transPennine options (should there be repaints for similar looking rolling stock) for Doncaster.. but Im sure a lot of us would like new timetables across a number of DLCs with AI or new services included to increase our immersion. Might have to look at PC editor and timetable tutorial but my patience with this type of thing is far from great! lol
Thank you for clarifying. Im still an early bird into TSW PC Editor. Hopefully some point in the not so distant future, i may gather enough knowledge on how to create a full blown timetable when using PC Editor.
Finally someone has done this :D
If you upload a scenario that you make using these paths, will it work on the other end or will it break? Since all mods have to be uninstalled to upload something.
Not sure if this is intentional but all of the freight siding paths seems to have vanished from this mod (like Wembley).
To answer your first question, you can upload your custom scenarios to creators club but those who subscribe to your scenario(s) will need to use my patch.
Regarding freight sidings, I'll be adding those in the next update.
ok that makes sense, thanks for clarification
Please could you do Preston - Carlisle so that we can use the quarries and industries too that are there

Thanks much appreciated.
Your more than welcome. Since dtg have decided that they would rather push dlc over fixing core issues, I have since taken over scenario designer and for me to make it much much better. I hope you and others alike continue to enjoy using scenario designer with my patch applied.
