New South Wales Government Railways 42 Class

New South Wales 42 Class diesel locomotives were built by Clyde Engineering, Granville in 1955-56 and six locomotives were built.

The design was based on Electro-Motive Diesel EMD F7 locomotive that was used in North America and was very similar to the Commonwealth Railways GM12 Class then being built around the same time.

The 42 Class worked on express passenger services when introduced, and in later years the locomotives were concentrated on freight services on the Main South line.

The locomotives were in service with New South Wales Government Railways for 28 years, before being withdrawn in 1983. Four locomotives were preserved.

The ACF Chair Car in NSWGR livery is also included in this package.
