Happy new timetable day! The East Midlands franchise has seen quite the change in recent years and today presents a huge shake up to services across the region. You’ll be sampling some of those changes in today’s brand new direct journey between Matlock and Cleethorpes. EMR cite an improved calling pattern as one of its host of benefits, but perhaps not so beneficial to the train crew. All stops to Derby, Spondon, Long Eaton, miss Attenborough, Beeston, Nottingham, non-stop Newark Castle, Collingham, miss Swinderby (this time), Hykeham and Lincoln…phew. It gets worse at the coastal end with Grimsby Docks and New Clee snatched from the Barton’s except for in the peak! Anyway…next stop fail to call…I mean Fiskerton?!
