Description

With engineering work taking place on the WCML, the Hope Valley is expected to be the go between for those travelling between London and the North West. To make matters worse, industrial action at TPE means only a skeleton timetable is on offer and its up to EMR and Northern to strengthen where they can. On the day this led to double 195s & triple Express/Super Sprinter workings, although many were subject to lengthy delays with signalling issues out west. You'll be in charge of one of those bizarre formations with 2x 158s and a 156 to slow things down a little between Manchester Piccadilly and Sheffield in Part 1 and finally Nottingham in Part 2. You're already 30 down by the time you get in the seat so do what you can but don't be expecting any miracles.

Date: Saturday 30th April 2022
Traction: 156406 + 158846 + 158854 (Max 75 mph)
Route: Manchester Piccadilly - Sheffield (70 mins) & Sheffield - Nottingham (60 mins)
Notes: You MUST run the included 1L12 Free Roam scenario before attempting Part 1 only. Fly south as far as Stockport, allowing tiles to load enroute. Part 1 can then be immediately loaded afterwards.
A great deal of time and effort has been spent replicating signal sequences in this scenario so please do not press TAB on any signals. (These are all designed to operate just like their real life counterparts and where you may find the section ahead is clear on the 2D map, 'Force Red' markers are being used to simulate AI trains ahead of you. This has its benefits at GD16 signal which, when a train ahead is still in the Totley Tunnel section, should display a yellow aspect, GD15 the same and GD14 at danger. Without my own manipulation of these signals, GD16 incorrectly diplays a clear aspect, GD15 the single yellow and therefore no where near the required braking distance to stop for GD14).
