A pack that contains all my camera mods in a single mod, TSW 4 only.
Aim is to have a realistic driver's viewpoint. Some other small fixes like light adjustments are included too.
Known issues:
Only one minor issue: The scenario "Down The Line" on Great Western Expressway will not remove the driver NPC from the driver's seat as you take over - it is rooted in the way the scenario is set up. This NPC is placed in a non-standard way in this very old scenario, and it seems it is tied to fixed coordinates. If you want to play this one, disable the mod.

Best to remove the single AVL mod when using this one, in case you're experiencing issues.
Sorry for the hassle, which only DTG can resolve at the moment.
The BR 110 is finally playable in rain and snow :) Thank you for this mod.
Thanks :) The Brake key is hidden behind the E-brake handle, but that's a price I'm willing to pay, just move the brake handle a little to reach it :D
Yes, excellent compromise. You can also activate it while standing, so no gameplay concerns.
Exactly :)
Awesome mod, any plans to do the ES44c4 from Cajon? The camera sits high and the wipers are small, so when it rains you cant really see infront of you as the wipers dont clear that much.
I'm on it.
There you go. :)
your the best!
Have you made the es44 in horseshoe cab view higher? if not I think the view needs to be higher as it seems too low. thanks
No, if you raise it you'll have a bad visibility in rain or snow. I've actually moved it back a little, but the position is still a bit higher than in my modded Cajon Pass ES44C4. Normally the driver sits about in the middle of the side windows.
It's probably the high control stand and the towered displays in HSC's ES44 that leads to the impression you're too low.
That makes sense. Thanks for the info
Embrace the 13 :) And thank you for making these mods for us all to enjoy and have a better gaming experience.
Haha, was just making sure nothing goes wrong there.
Thanks for appreciating!
Y'all are very welcome, I Fear Not The 13, it's been in my life and my family's life for many years. As well as here again after checking the updates here, just this one mod showed me three updates, with a total of 16 and after clicking each one, I ended up with :)
More updates to go through.
I couldn't add an image to ya reply.
:) Next update is in the pipeline, adding the Class 150 and 158.
I think it will become a bit more quiet then, got all cameras that annoyed me adjusted now.
I Look forward to it, do you have the 187? some tried to give a few touch-ups, but it still looks like ya are sitting on the desk, that is if it can be changed. I tried searching for any that may have given it a once over. https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/search?query=br+187
Nope don't have that one as it is apparently not worth the money.
If it's on sale I might get it for the layers, and certainly include it here if I don't like the default cam.
Yeah, I saw and heard that sometime after getting it. all is good though, figured I would ask.
It will be included in the upcoming patch, got it for €7 in a bundle.
Good job !
Thanks!
is the ICE 3 viewpoint based on the enhancement pack by Nagiphaaa or a bit different? and if I understood it right, if I rename this to be sorted above the enhancement pack, the ICE 3 from KWG will then use the viewport of your mod instead of the EP because it uses that first?
I don't know that EP, all my cameras are based on the latest TSW4 default files, and my own preferences. (Lots of editing, starting the game, closing again, editing, starting the game... :D )
You'll have to try renaming the files yourself, maybe put a "!" in front of the filename of my mod and see if it supersedes your other mod then.
yeah already did that and it worked fine but thanks still. :)
Update for compatibility with today's TSW core and DLC update is in the works, please standby
Mod should then work with TSW3 too, though I cannot test that at the moment.
DTG rolled back their update. Mod still requires a workaround that prevents it from being used on TSW3.
This mod is now fully up to date with the latest DLC patches from DTG. If you are using an older version of the mod, the updated Vectron might not work correctly. Always use the latest version of my mod :)
please share instructions on how to change the location of the cameras in the cockpit
Join the TSC Discord - I won't do a tutorial here :)
idk why u keep updating this every few days its starting to get to the point of having to get rid of this mod because of it i feel its not worth using
"idk"? See the changelog. Adding new stuff, staying compatible with DTG's updates.
You don't have to use the mod if updates annoy you for whatever reason.
Btw, next update is coming to stay compatible with the latest DTG Vorarlberg update ;)
yeah not for me sorry as a modder for ATS & ETS2 i dont do every 2 days updates
It's your choice. All you need to do is overwrite the pak, but if that's too much feel free to delete it.
I'm also modding ETS2 (just for my own use though).
Ironically just because modders don't update their mods the Steam forums are full of bug reports that are due to outdated or badly maintained mods. :)
The rotem camera rework was really needed, i was so tired of looking down to setup the cab. Many thanks!
You're welcome.
By request, I've also adjusted the Amfleet Cab Car, will come in the next update. (And the new Blackpool 47)
Great mod!
Can you also do it for the Ge4/4 Rhb?
You can adjust the seat height as you like already on the Ge4/4. :)
When I have T menu with instructions, zooming works too, can you disable that as in Vanilla game?
Btw, nice mod!
No, not possible. That's core game code. And what you are describing has nothing to do with my mod.
But without that mod when "T" menu is toggled zooming camera is disabled. So it must be your mod thing.
Nope. That's the effect of GodMode's Zoomier Zoom, not my mod. :)
Excellent pack, you'de made the ICE1 usable now! Well done for the improvments to all the locos. Is there a way for some trains to not have the adjustments, the 323 and 158 i liked the prevouis cab view. Thanks!
Not really, unless removing the mod temporarily. (or just renaming it by changing the .pak suffix to something else like .bak or .inactive. Or use the Mod Manager available here.
Why do you want those extremely laid back cameras back, making the window view too narrow, instead looking at the whole cab?
The point of the mod is to have a view like you were actually the driver, and the default 323 and 158 don't give me the impression as I feel I can't reach the controls.
If someone doesn't like a particular cabview, that's nothing I can address other than telling you to disable the mod when playing a certain route - as the mod contains 90 cabviews I do not want to upload and maintain each one separately.
Another update was necessary, as I just received a Steam update affecting Edinburgh Glasgow and the 385. Mod updated to v1.27 to reflect the changes.
I found a problem with the 385, windows are almost white and can't see the exterior.
Are you using other mods? The issue you are describing cannot be caused by my mod, as I'm not editing materials, only coordinates.
I tried removing all mods except this and godmode, also removed all ini settings but when this mod is active, the Class 385 has white windows. All the other cabs looks great.
I cannot reproduce what you are describing.
Maybe redownload the mod and try again.
Was it possible to find a way to make it compatible with https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c3-train-sim-world/c19-patches/i4045-reduction-of-the-intensity-of-bro-br-425-red-lights?
I am currently working on my own 425 fix to include here. In addition to the tail lights, I will dim the marker lights too.
Edit: Done, v1.30 uploaded includes the 425 light fixes.
Seems like I still got the nuclear tail light after using v1.30 with no other mods included, any clue what I should look at to figure out the issue?
Me the same it doenst work!
Then you have selected the Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr 425. I have not changed that one, as it is a ToDv3 vehicle.
BRO is using ToDv4 which uses completely different light emissive values.
Can't be done for both, it's just due to the switchover to a new lighting system with TSW3. They had copied the Rhein-Ruhr 425 to BRO without adapting the lights, which I did.
So make sure you are using the BRO425 on TSW3/4 routes. I've double checked - it works.
Eh no! Thats not the case.... You now writing that I am talking about the 425 from Rhein Ruhr, but that is not the case! It's really about the BRO version
Same as Xander, I used the BOG one that only run on BOG
I don't know. Probably another mod you are using is interfering with mine.
I'm testing with no other mod but this one only (still have custom .ini)
Todays winter core patch needs the mod to be updated, hang in there. Will go out tonight.
v1.30 is what we needed for the recent BRO 425 headlight fix mod which probably had a compatibility issue with this. even though I don't own BRO I miiiight buy it at some point, and a TOD4 425 would come in handy anyways (idk why though lmao the TOD3 one works well enough) but thanks!
will the BRO 425 light overhaul also be available for the NRM 425?
Not needed. NRM 425 runs on pre TSW3 routes, so no action needed.
BRO 425 was a special case as it's a TOD3 vehicle on a TOD4 upgraded route.
But, never say never ;)
And the top marker cone is irrelevant on NRM, as there is no volumetric fog for old routes.
Hello, dear Spikee1975! I really want to draw your attention to the fact that when the light in the locomotive cabin is turned on, when viewed from an external camera, it looks completely unreal! The cabin windows are usually too transparent, the interior lighting or the cabin textures themselves are too bright, and the camera's appearance looks unnatural! Is there any way to fix this? This is bad taste or incompetence due to the lack of an artist in DTG, but they will never fix it, so many locomotives have this bug with lights and cabin windows.
Which loco are you talking about?
Also, might be worth checking out other modders (JetWash has fixed the saloon lights on the 700 for example).
I mean, most of the locomotives in the game. There is 1 locomotive with good glasses Cajon Pass BNSF SD 40-2 look at what kind of glass it has and what the interior looks like from an external camera through the glass and what transparency there is and compare it with all the other locomotives in the game and you will understand what I'm talking about. Thanks for your attention!
While tracking down a mod or mods that would cause TSW4 to hang in a forever loading loop when trying to load several different scenarios, actually there were three so far, Two Vest mods for CSX and NS DLCs. As well as a sound mod for the class 155 working with the mod author it was worked out, I understand this may be TMI, but as I was putting the mods back in one at a time load the gammee and test & so on. I then ran across the issue as you see in the images, this only happens when CabCamFix mod is installed, and this only has happened with the class 166, when doing the "Down The Line" Scenario and when choosing either of the services on Platform 8 Slough & Platform 10 Reading and Platform 14 Hayes & Harlington doesn't have an NPC in the seat, this not an issue.
I un-installed every mod from the game and started all over again and I only have "CabCamFix" installed, I did not un-install the ini mod, I never heard of an ini mod that would have this kind of an effect on the game. Up til now I never had any issues with the CabCamFix, this is very odd. I tried to make the images smaller but still be able to see what is happening. And I will remove them to keep the thread cleaner looking if that is what you wish.
I've seen exactly the same thing and haven't got as far as testing it mod free, but I suspect it's yet ANOTHER bug with the game. The NPC isn't disappearing when you sit in the seat and I'd be very surprised if a mod that simply altered camera co-ordinates could prevent that happening. It only happens in this one scenario and if you look in the external view there are two characters in the seat. It maybe that this mod has unmasked a bug that is hitherto unseen because the player has always blocked out the NPC. It’s a PITA but all I can suggest is remove the mod to play this scenario and put it back in for everything else.
The scenario is playable :) But I would not be surprised if it's not another Game Bug, nevertheless, I figured Let you both know what is happening as I see it. And yes it's not that much of a hassle to remove the mod to do one or two scenarios.
I just noticed that I neglected to mention that the choose from the list that pops up was screen-capped from TSW3 as this doesn't show up in TSW4. Thanks for getting back to me. But it is kind of funny when ya think about it, no sense in crying :) Oh yeah If y'all want me to remove the images let me know.
This is entirely Spikee’s mod, I’m just an interloper. Did you say it works ok when the mod is uninstalled? Maybe Spikee could take a look at it.
With the mod removed, No Eye & Tongue :) took a few screencaps.
Things happen, it's the life of modding, as for the second man I will have a look-see and grab a few screencaps, let me know if I should take the images down to keep the thread clean. This was not the game being buggy then?
I was going to do a scenario like the two-faced guy :), I wanted to ask you first because I don't want to do ya wrong, would rather promote the mod and I would have a disclaimer saying all was fixed and show it. Merry Christmas.
testing... hold on...
I have checked my mod and my initial suspicion was not true, I don't see any error.
When do you see the two faced guy? Service on P8?
OK, he's on P10. Wait.
That's weird. Using my mod, the driver stays in the seat and you're on top of him. Without it, he disappears as soon as you take a seat. (Secondman has nothing to do with it, it's a driver)
I'll need some time. Because the 166 is set up a little different. The camera coordinates are not relative to the seat, but to the loco centre. This must have something to do with it.
If it only affects this scenario, I'm gonna leave it as it is. If I can take over any service on foot, then it's not worth the effort.
I'm not sure how this old scenario is scripted. But it seems the way the NPC is removed is different than normal...
If I take over any service, it works. It is just this one scenario that works in a different way.
But I will see on which coordinate it depends, maybe changing the X a little will resolve this
Nothing I can do here
The driver change in this scenario is somehow depending on the coordinates, if I change the camera just by 0.1 it's not working. This one is pretty weird... the NPC is not placed in the vehicle like a normal NPC, it seems he is tied to fixed coordinates that are related to the driver CAM not the SEAT. As these coordinates have changed, he is non-existent for the game and doesn't get removed. So the bug is in the design of that one scenario. (which is one of the oldest TSW scenarios.)
I won't remove the 166 from the mod just because of this one scenario, so I'll leave it at that.
I hear ya, and it's no biggie, I didn't expect you to go through all this, sometimes it's just not worth it, and hear ya and can understand. The mod can be deactivated when doing either of those scenarios on Platforms 8 and 10 and I just did some of a timetable service with a 323 and took over from the AI NPC with no issues at all. There is something that is just off with the 166 and "Down The Line Scenario" The pop choice of routes to take does not show in TSW4 & Yet in TSW3 it does most times the is. I appreciate what you have done and the time you took to make this mod, not to mention troubleshoot it now. Heck, you have done more than you need to with this one, and if I could tip all y'all modders I would, I can live with it as is.
The introductory scenario on GWE was also broken for years, not recognising you taking a seat. It seems they are set up differently.
So it would seem, and TSW4 is just helping to bring the issues to light even more so on this one, that is a shame I kinda like the 166, the way it sounds and rides. so much more could have been done with it. Who knows if they released the source code like a few others have, well then maybe. Wish I could have stayed with modding but life had its way and those days are way beyond me now. That is why I try to give back what I can in my own way.
You're a good spirited nice chap Dre.
Thank you, I do appreciate your kind thoughts, and I try my best to be.
is it possible for you to lower the caab view for the mbta cab car? it's way too high up when compared to real life.
You mean the CTC-3? I've worked on this already, I think it has good view. If I lower it, you can't see the cab-signalling displays...
were to install this mod on the TSW4 from gamepass?
I don't have that, so I don't know. I'm using the Steam version.
ouch
On the gamepass version, each DLC has its own folder. By default it should be in C:\XboxGames. For e.g., I have mine here: C:\XboxGames\Metrolink Antelope Valley Line\Content\TS2Prototype\Content\DLC.
Nuwanda, does the mod work with the Gamepass version?
the West Somerset Railway update breaks the class 33 (window view is bad now )probably other trains on that route too did not check the rest
New update is just being uploaded :) (WSR Class 33, 47 and 52 affected)
cool :)
Hey I dunno if this mod already does this but can I get a driver POV cam while an AI is driving the train?
Not possible. Sit in the secondman's seat :)
If convenient, can you provide version v1.29 again?
It runs well on my TSW3, at least working on CRR SD40
The latest v1.37 version will cause issues with my game, such as CSX GP38-2/UP SD70ACe/UP SD40-2, which will disappear after entering the game
If you don't understand what I'm saying, feel free to ask me anytime, because my native language is not English
Hi YamadaRyo,
the mod is based on the TSW4 files, so it's not intended for use with TSW3.
Making it TSW3 compatible would require me to reinstall TSW3 with all DLC, extract all the needed files and basically redo the mod from scratch.
Sorry to say but I'm not interested in supporting TSW3 any more. It's double the trouble.
I'm on the discord so I can reach out if preferred, but I was wondering if this effected, or on request, might be able to include, the Underground '72 stock? It'd be nice if the speedo was within the default field of view.
That would only require you to look down a bit, no change of camera position. I'll not make changes to the default rotation, you're always looking straight forward.
Hello, yours new version of mode is crasing the game. Until update which is 2hours old it didn't crash.
I have tested it succesfully on my end. There is nothing in it that could cause a crash, no idea why it crashes for you. When does it happen exactly?
By the way, I just made another update which fixes the too weak reading lights in the Semmeringbahn Taurus. :)
Oh, I will try that new one. It crashes on startup, without your mod nothing. Afterall, I will check new version.
Now it is okay :D Thanks!
Glad it's sorted, enjoy!
Hey, is it possible to fix the engine room lights on the SBN 1116 like you did with the clipboard light?
would be nice :)
Your wish is my command...
v1.42 available with fixed Engine Room lights :)
