This mod aims to reconfigure the Raildriver Controls for all of the Passenger Locomotives in TSW. These mods are very simple tweaks such as button remapping, and lever reconfigurations to utilize a better playing experience when playing these locomotives using the RailDriver controller. This mod currently only supports all of the passenger locomotives, and does not include support for any freight locomotives at the moment as I do not have all of the freight DLC for TSW just yet.
Note: In order for this mod to work properly with your RailDriver Controller, you must have CobraOne's "TSW RailDriver & Joystick Interface" third party program due to the specific way that the RailDriver Reverser, Throttle/Dynamic Brake, Auto Brake, and Independent Brake levers on ALL of the included US locomotives are mapped in-game. This will also get rid of any in-game twitchiness with the levers that has been a persistent problem ever since TSW5 was released.
Please download the README.pdf file for step-by-step instructions on how to set up the program for this mod. There is also a comprehensive list of content that is supported and unsupported with this mod, along with a list of changes to many of the control inputs and mapping, both universal and locomotive specific.
Version and Release History
v1.3 - Released 5/22/25 - See List Below for list of changes made:
All Locomotives
-Major cleanup of main EHC files and removal of unecessary, unused, and unusual inputs that aren't needed, or otherwise cause issues with other mapped inputs.
-Removal of the Base Config from all of the EHC files included with all supported DLC and implementation of a basic EHC template across all supported DLC to make configuring these locomtives much more streamlined if any new content comes out, or if I decide to work on other DLC's that aren't US related. Currently, only the Range, Stop, Alerter, Sand, Pantograph, and Bell Buttons, Horn, Reverser, Throttle, Train-Brake, Independent Brake/Bail-off, and Rotary Switches, along with the up/down and D-Pad button are supported. However, the RailDriver function keys (the 28 small buttons on the bottom of the RailDriver controller) are not mapped to anything on any locomotives, as figuring out and mapping out the value numbers on each key was a complete nightmare. Eventually the fuction keys will have support, hopefully in the next mod release.
-Reprogrammed in-game Alerter buttons to respond to being held down when holding the RailDriver Alerter Button.
-Reprogrammed In-game Handbrakes/Parking Brake on applicable locomotives to the RailDriver Range button (both upper and lower).
-Reprogrammed Emergency Brakes on applicable locomotives to the RailDriver Stop button (both upper and lower).
-Reprogrammed Contact Signaller/Dispatcher/PTT button to the Pantograph(P) RailDriver button. Sadly, for whatever reason, this does not work on all of the locomotives that have a Contact Signaller/Dispatcher/PTT button in-game, though it is still mapped on the RailDriver, and may be fixed eventually in the future.
-Added Next/Previous cab view on D-Pad button; Pushing down or up on the D-pad button will move the player to the next locomotive cab view if applicable. Note that this might not work correctly on some locomotives, as oftentimes, it will freak out and take you off of the map out of view of the cab view. If this happens, simply press the 1 key on the keyboard and it will reset your cab view to whichever locomotive it moves you to.
Locomotive Specific Adjustments
-SFJ Nippon Sharyo Gallery Cab Car: Mapped Bail-Switch to RailDriver Bail-Off (in game it has no working fuctionality, but in real life, it would act similar to setting the independent brake to bail-off position, albiet bailing the brakes off the locomotive rather than the cab car, as the cab car has no independent brakes.)
-SFJ Bombardier Cab Car: Mapped Parking Brake to the RailDriver Range Button as an additional input alongside the RailDriver Independent brake being mapped to the Parking Brake.
NYH M7A: Mapped Charge Brakes to RailDriver Sander Button
NYH M3A: Mapped Charge Brakes to RailDriver Sander Button
NYT Bi-Level: Fixed Sander from digital increase to analogue change as Sander would initially not release from local sand when trying to turn off when relesing the RailDriver Sander button.
AVL/SBD/XMAS Rotem Cab Car Metrolink: Fixed headlights from digital increase to analogue change as headlights would initially not respond when trying to turn RailDriver Headlight rotary switch to the leftward position (off)
LIRR M3: Mapped Charge Brakes to Sander Button
SBD MP36PH-3C: Removed Cut-Off Valve being mapped to the RailDriver Range button
SBD F59PHR: Removed Cut-Off Valve being mapped to the RailDriver Range button
BOW CTC-3: Mapped Loco Sand to the RailDriver Sander Button alongside the already mapped Car Sand button.
This will be the last update of this mod to only include US Passenger Locomotives. Starting with the next update, I will be including support for all US Freight locomotives, along with an updated Readme, that documents the aforementioned changes as the current Readme does not.

This is fantastic, thank you! It was annoying having to use my keyboard to control the MetrLink Christmas train.
You're welcome!
Having just gotten a RD this is great! Think you'll get around to doing the US frieght locos?
If I feel that there are any freight locos that need to be reconfigured (the CSX and UP AC4400CW comes to mind), then I'll get to it, though I hardly play any of the freight routes
