Update: 23 / 02 / 2024
Here is the fictional announcement package for the Maintalbahn, created by Tokio.

Services:
RB 88: Aschaffenburg - Miltenberg
RB88: Miltenberg - Aschaffenburg
RE 87: Aschaffenburg - Miltenberg
RE87: Miltenberg - Aschaffenburg
and my new Special Announcements

My other created announcements will be updated to this quality in the future, and new announcements will be made in the future.
The voices now have a natural quality, and the texts have been updated to ensure a uniform and recognizable announcement for future announcement packages.
**All Announcements are in german and english language. **

The announcements are now (and in the future) always arranged as follows:
An announcement when leaving the station (a short greeting).
An announcement before the next station (with informations! These announcements can be up to 2 minutes long at large stations, so play them in good time).

The announcements work best with the external program Soundpad.
It is available on Steam (full version is needed, which I can really highly recommend).
Soundpad is easy to use and offers a clear interface.

Installation and how to use my announecments:

With Soundpad, the announcements are very easy to insert, and they are activated with hotkeys in the background.
You create a category (a service) in Soundpad in the left column. E.g. "Niddertalbahn". In this service, you insert subcategories for each service.
Simply copy the sound files from the ZIP download into the respective service. The announcements are ordered according to the correct sequence for playing.
In this image, you can see how I did it.

In Soundpad settings, select a hotkey for "play next file," e.g., Num-8.
Now you can easily play the sounds one after another with your hotkey.

SPECIAL:

New are the special announcements in the "special" folder. The use of this is optional but adds significantly more depth to the announcements!

These include information on which direction the doors open and announcements for special events, e.g., a red signal, delay, or similar.

To be able to use these sounds sensibly, I strongly recommend a 2nd monitor (or a tablet. I use my iPad as a 2nd monitor via the free app Spacedesk, which also allows touch inputs).
For these sounds, you can assign hotkeys (note: "same hotkey in all categories" must be disabled in the settings).
If you use the special announcements, e.g., Num-1 for "exit left" announcement and Num-3 for "exit right" announcement, then the hotkey for "normal announcements" for the route no longer works because Soundpad automatically switches to another category (unfortunately).
Therefore, you now simply activate the route announcements via the 2nd monitor (with the mouse, click on the next file) or with the iPad (touch), which gives the whole thing an even better feeling.

Now I wish you a lot of fun with my announcements. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to write them in the comments. :)

Disclaimer:
The idea of using soundpad for the announcements was not my idea.
I'm not claiming anything here. Manny inspired me.
I created the files myself, invented the text and edited the audio.
Anyone who wants to use the announcements is welcome.

Big thanks! It is so fun driving with announcements! Thank you very much. (as a small feedback: maybe it is possible to make the announcements sound a bit less like a computer voice, just an idea)

Thank you very much for your message. I'm glad you like it. :)

So far, my announcements were a first draft, to try out the texts and "to have something in the game at all"...

I can already promise that I'm currently trying a lot and that the announcements will become significantly more natural and better in quality in the future... :) :) :)
However, I ask for a bit of patience, as everything is done alongside my job and unfortunately, I hardly have time during the week.
My next project will be Salzburg-Rosenheim, and I hope to be able to apply the new method here already.
The announcements created so far will then also be updated.

In the future, my announcements, as already with Rapid Transit, will include an announcement when leaving the station and an announcement shortly before arriving at the next station.

A question to the players: should the announcements on German routes be only in German, or also or partly in English? I would appreciate feedback.

It would be nice to have them in English depending on the route (afaik, most ICE and RE/RB services between major cities have them), some research or watching ride videos could help.
It would also be nice if German announcements were closer to real life, where it tells you if the exit is on the left or right.

Other than that good job, and nice to hear you're gonna make them more realistic in terms of effects.

Thank you for your feedback. I will then add a slightly shorter English announcement for German routes.

Where do I get the information about the exit direction? And is this the same for every service in the respective direction?
Otherwise, I think this currently goes beyond the scope.

I guess adding the exite side would be too much work since changes to the timetable e.g. with mods would make the announcements wrong. What would be cool and realistic woould be an extra "ausstieg in fahrtrichtung x" announcemnt. In reality, it is often seperate to the other announcements. That would be very cool. What would be also very cool are special announcements like "Halt entfällt" or "wegen bauarbeiten....".

True about using timetable mods it could make the announcements wrong, currently the only way of knowing in game would be to play the services, so far I don't think there are services that have differing exits, it's pretty much the same every time.
Like Mor said, it'd be nice to have extra announcements since you can bind them to specific hotkeys, you could add them to SoundPad and play one whenever the train is delayed etc.
You could also provide the "ausstieg in fahrtrichtung x" and players could build their own architecture in SoundPad.

I probably have a solution. I'll test it out and check if it works.
Thank you for your suggestions!

I'm one step further, it could work.
About the plan:
I would like to create a category in Soundbord that contains “special announcements” ;).
But: if I set hotkeys for these, the hotkey for the next announcement of the actual service of the timetable no longer works, because Soundbord then automatically switches to the "special announcements" category.

Any ideas?

I found a way to do it with ctrl and alt + x... but then you would have to count the announcements, which doesn't really make sense since it doesn't automatically continue playing from the last position.. well it works, if you are using soundpad on a 2nd monitor and you can see, what file was played last.... but i am not happy with this...
My wish is: set hotkeys for some "special" announcements...
But when you use hotkey for "next file", the normal announcement should continue at last position...

maybe as a solution you just let the player switch to special announcements (I don't think you are able to recognise the hotkeys for special announcements since you use them not as often). So if you just create the announcements, the player can( for example on a second screen) select the special announcement and then return to the regular announcement. maybe you could do same for the door side announcements. Just an idea

I have now used my iPad as a second monitor. this is how it would work.
I have set the door announcements to 2 hotkeys (ctrl - alt - 1/2).
I set the announcements to a different combination using the index hotkey. This brings me back to the appropriate announcement. A little fiddly, but that's how it would work.

But maybe there is a very simple solution.

I have to say, this solution works great. I can restart the normal announcements on the iPad simply via touch. That's great... I use the free Spacedesk program to connect Windows to the tablet.

hey, you have to unzip the files and then copy them into Soundpad. I tested it, all files should be fine. But there will be a big update soon.
