Meet at Clifton Crossover

IC No. 1518 heads a St. Louis-bound merchandise train through the crossover at Clifton, IL. No. 1537 waits for the highball before proceeding with its Chicago-bound coal drag. This photo was shot on my work-in-progress route featuring the Illinois Central Railroad, Iroquois Prairielands. Iroquois Prairielands Route Testers Wanted!

If anyone is interested in testing what I have so far on my Iroquois Prairielands route featuring the Illinois Central Railroad, please download the work-in-progress file at the link below. Please note that this is not an official release.

Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eNSnbDKZJsCA1Hs7CXYMwL-tIB0w3SVX/view?usp=sharing

About: The Iroquois Prairielands route features the bidirectional, double mainline, CTC controlled Illinois Central main line as it appeared in the 1940s between Otto, IL and Gilman, IL (about 25 miles) in northern Iroquois County. At the peak of wartime traffic, it was the busiest section of track on the Illinois Central system. With few curves and gentle hills, this section of track saw high speed passenger and freight service. As part of the IC Chicago Subdivision, the main line also connects to the Bloomington Subdivision to Bloomington, IL at Otto, IL, and the Gilman Line to St. Louis, MO at Gilman, IL. The line was later reduced to a single bidirectional track in the 1980s, and continues to be used by Canadian National Railroad after their absorption of the Illinois Central Railroad in 1999.

Current Features: The towns of Otto, IL and Chebanse, IL at the north end of the line have been completely finished. Clifton, IL is nearly finished, and is on the verge of being connected to Chebanse with rural scenery. Ashkum, IL and its interlocking have been built out and labeled, and some trackside structures have also been placed. Danforth, IL has no scenery as of yet, and Gilman, IL has some of its trackside structures placed. The entire route's trackage has been built and signaled for the most part. Custom signage modeled by yours truly will also be added towards the end of the route building phase. This route is still a work-in-progress and is unfinished. It should be used for testing only, and should not be distributed.

Installation: Simply unzip the .zip folder and place it in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Content\Routes. You must have all the required assets, or the route will not load properly.

Assets:
Boston and Albany - G-Trax

CalTrain San Jose Route- DTG
Clinchfield - DTG
Horseshoe Curve - RSC
Pennsylvania Steam - G-Trax
Rail Simulator US (US Loco and Asset Pack) - RSC
Sacramento Northern Suisun Bay - G-Trax

Illinois Central EMD GP9 Out Now!

I've recently release a version of the EMD GP9 that not only includes the classic black and white paint scheme with the Green Diamond logo, but also features new attachments true to the IC. These include a front mounted bell, hoods over the class lights, and spark arrestors over the exhaust vents. All attachments were modeled and imported into Train Sim Classic by yours truly. Get the new repaint here: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c1-train-sim-classic/c10-reskins/c25-north-american/c27-locomotives/i3902-emd-gp9-illinois-central

An Autumn Morning on the Iroquois Prairielands

Hi all! I'd like to share some images of my IC Iroquois Prairielands route (a work in progress for which the Machine Rail IC 1923 Lima Mikado was comissioned) in the crisp autumn morning light. Set in the 1940s, the route stretches about 25 miles between Otto, IL and Gilman, IL, and was one of the busiest sections of track on the entire Illinois Central system. Enjoy the photos. and check back here for more soon!
