Hey all! Here's a Fall 2024 update on my IC Iroquois Prairielands route!
Pictured above is North Gilman, which is now complete! North Gilman was a refueling station for the IC that featured a water tower, a quartet of water columns, and a pair of twin coal towers (seen here) that towered high above the plains. Once I finish Gilman's south end, I'll release an update containing that content sometime around the beginning of December 2024. Afterward, I'll head way up north to finish Kankakee, IL and Bradley, IL.
Back in September, I released a pack of repaints for the reefer that was released as part of Machine Rail's IC Mikado pack. There are 24 repaints in this pack featuring general use refrigeration cars as well as reefers for beer, dairy, fruit, meat, and soft drink products. Everything you need for that pack is immediately below this text.

Another update is that I've commissioned a new locomotive for running on the IC Iroquois Prairielands. It's the IC's 2600 4-8-2s, and this series of mountains was the largest and most powerful example of a 4-8-2 locomotive every built. They were used to haul express freight between Chicago and New Orleans, as well as to St. Louis and Memphis in between. One of them, IC No. 2613 pulled excursion trains in the 1960s before being retired. For this reason, heavyweight baggage and chair cars will be part of the pack. Machine Rail will be the ones building this pack, and I've included their preliminary mockup drawing of the model (a work-in-progress) above!
Stay tuned for more updates soon!

IC No. 1518 heads a St. Louis-bound merchandise train through the crossover at Clifton, IL. No. 1537 waits for the highball before proceeding with its Chicago-bound coal drag. I've recently release a version of the EMD GP9 that not only includes the classic black and white paint scheme with the Green Diamond logo, but also features new attachments true to the IC. These include a front mounted bell, hoods over the class lights, and spark arrestors over the exhaust vents. All attachments were modeled and imported into Train Sim Classic by yours truly. Get the new repaint here: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c1-train-sim-classic/c10-reskins/c25-north-american/c27-locomotives/i3902-emd-gp9-illinois-central
Hi all! I'd like to share some images of my IC Iroquois Prairielands route (a work in progress for which the Machine Rail IC 1923 Lima Mikado was comissioned) in the crisp autumn morning light. Set in the 1940s, the route stretches about 25 miles between Otto, IL and Gilman, IL, and was one of the busiest sections of track on the entire Illinois Central system. Enjoy the photos. and check back here for more soon!
