Apparently the "weekly" concept is nonsense because I won't have much to share in each post, which is why having it closer to a post each month is just better.
To summarize the content: ICE T Soundmod has been released as beta, new 423 Soundmod is in the works, 420 will be visited.
ICE T Soundmod
The soundmod has been released in a beta state, offering the new traction motor sounds along with new brake howling, new internal HBU and rolling sounds and better ETCS and LZB beeps.
You can visit the mod page here.
A preview can be watched below:
It is definetly planned to add a lot of things in the future, such as the small differences in modulation on deceleration, which can be done with a seperate cue that is being played on, well, deceleration. I'll just need to figure out how to get that done.
DB Class 423 Soundmod & Enhancements
I decided to seperate the soundmod from the small enhancement pack, and rework the traction sounds completely. Besides the improved IGBT sounds, I also decided to make new GTO soundsets for the Cologne-Aachen and Munich-Augsburg 423s.
Previews of the new GTO sounds can be viewed here:
I originally planned to make IGBT variants for the Munich and Cologne 423s, however since I have a brain the size of a peanut, I cannot figure out how to make my custom formation(s) appear in-game. Perhaps I will have to publish the mod without those variants, seeing how the situation currently is.
An update has been published for the enhancement pack itself a few weeks ago. The old soundmod has been removed and a variant has been added in preperation for BPH's Frankfurt-Fulda EEP, whenever that'll be ready (sounds a bit weird seeing that I talked about not being able to figure out variant-making above, but this one has actually been made by GER/JUSI Lp).
Zone of Free Thinking
Seeing that the 420 is back on the TSW roadmap after the reveal earlier this month, it is good that I am indeed going to munich in late april. I will make sure to find a 420 and record it with my π½πΎππ½ πππΆππΎππ πΆππΉπΎπ πππΈπππΉππ, no matter what may happen.
When the 423 soundmod is done to the point where it can be released, I can finally properly ponder about what projects I want to do next (besides the obvious 420 soundmod). Maybe I will do the 425? Or should I get to the 442? Or maybe I'll not worry about doing anything for a while (after the 420).
End of Post
My obsession with the 420 might be noticable at this point.
Can't wait for writing the next post in like 4 weeks or so from now. I don't even know what to write here anymore. Goodbye.
