Travel back in time to the early 2000's and bring classic Canadian switcher power to life on the Oakville Subdivision with the rugged SW1500, now rolling in Canadian National’s iconic black and red livery. This hardworking locomotive is a yardmaster’s dream — compact, powerful, and built for precision. Whether you’re shuffling tank cars in the industrial sprawl of Hamilton or building a consist by the lakeside, the SW1500 delivers gritty, authentic action with every throttle notch. Hear the rumble. Feel the steel. Command the yard.
The SW1500 is a seamless addition to OSD, it will substitute in on all TT services as an additional locomotive with a 33% chance of spawning on AI services. I have provided a placeholder scenario, as scenario creation is not my forte. If you would like to create some scenarios or an alternate timetable to use with the SW1500, feel free to do so, I will gladly include it with the mod download.
Special Thank You to Muff, SpaceyKat and the entire TSW modding community.

The DLCs required are no longer available for purchase on Steam, however a Steam key can still be purchased via other means (linked above) and activated on Steam (this should be the case, but I make no guarantees).
Unzip the contents of the downloaded archive to:
%Userprofile%\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld5\Saved\UserContent (Steam version of TSW)
%Userprofile%\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld5EGS\Saved\UserContent (Epics Games Store version of TSW)
(if UserContent directory does not exist, simply create one)
All of the screenshots were taken in-game whilst running SpaceyKat's All North American Routes Time of Day Upgrade
I highly recommend using this mod as it just makes all older US routes look considerably better.

No donations are necessary, all are much appreciated. The most important thing to me is that you enjoy the content I create.
Great effort first, Jan! I followed the project for a while on TSC. A few things I encountered: Animations don't work, f.e. doors/windows don't open, levers don't move (don't know if that is intended/expected at this stage), and the instruments for the driver missing textures. I don't get the engine to start, pressed Engine Prime/Start long enough and switches for pump, engine and generator all turned on, but nothing happens. Did I miss something?

Are you on TSW5? Everything should work correctly.
Did you enable mods in the Options? Specifically the UGC part?
So, I have installed Peninsula Corridor alongside the MP15DC now and this solves all problems. I only had MP15DC installed before, and thought it would work nonetheless but no. Engine is on once is spawned and it drives like a charm. Great vehicle!
And the game started for you? I purposely tried to test without SFJ installed (I was really hoping it would work this way), and got infinite loading too, and I figured it was because the actual MP15DC has SFJ as a requirement.
Yeah, I got the game loading just fine and even the SW1500 spawned in the training center without the Peninsula Corridor and even the MP15DC. The only issue were the problems described, but now having both DLCs installed and the paks put in the DLC folder everything works as expected.
IMHO, the "UserContent folder" DTG implemented is not a good option; it simply enables or disables ALL mods at one time, if there is a conflict, there is no way to know, other than maybe a crash oor it just won't load into the game, it's best to use the mod manager by Taskplays.
But also the links to "Peninsula Corridor: San Francisco - San Jose Route Add-On" lead to TSW2 or TSW3 versions of of the DLC, I have yet to try a version from a prior iteration of TSW in TSW5.
Yeah current implementation is super basic. There should of course be loading manager. It doesn't need to be complicated. Perhaps show a few stats (date, type, etc) and name on screen along with a checkbox next to it. Hopefully future iterations will improve.
In regards to DLC version - it doesn't matter which version of DLC you purchased, whether for TSW2020, TSW2/3, whatever. If it's a DLC that is in current iteration of the game, it will be added to your library for that game. DLC licenses don't take game version into consideration.
Yeah, that I knew when buying a prior version, say TSW2, you get the TSW5 version, but if I understand you, putting the TSW2 DLC into the TSW5 DLC will work, or when registering the TSW2/3 version on Steam, you would still get the TSW5 Version?
Yup, exactly that.
Very Good ^5
Is it possible to make texture mods for it? I'd love to make a livery for my local railway, as they use SW1500's for equipment moves, but with godmode, I can't seem to dump, nor does it appear in the livery editor.
Because it's not a Livery Editor livery, nor did I add Livery Editor support. The only way you could make a different texture would be through retexturing the actual model.
I have the PC Epic Games version and it would not work when the files were placed in the Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld5\Saved\UserContent folder, I had to put them in the Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld5EGS\Saved\UserContent, then it worked. I don't know if you guys who had issues are also on Epic Games but just a thought.
Glad to see this mod come out, I remember seeing a post about it on the forums in late 2021. I thought it had become vaporware.
This is fantasic, thanks so much for making this, its a great loco and realy adds to this route.
Thks for this great loco, you did a perfect job
The "scenario" seems not to function; the "couple to six vehicles" instruction never clears and you can't proceed. This wouldn't be such a big deal for a simple little couple-and-move service, except that it's at the top of my Quick Play queue and I can't clear it, making that function useless for me.
Could you please recreate the GP38-2W cab in the GP38-2
It seems a little unrealistic to have this loco in services on the mainline.
I am wondering if you can change the horn sound to a P3

At least for me, it's not working with the files in the UserContent folder. But works perfectly if you put them in the usual mod DLC folder and then enable a layer that appears ingame, as "Oakville modernisation", in the mastery rewards. This is, as I said, in my case. Perhaps someone else can confirm it. Thank you very much for your nice mod and cheers!
The Mastery Overlay is something else I am working on and forgot to remove from the mod itself.
I can confirm that the installation direction provided does not work for me as well, but it works if you put the paks in the usual DLC direction for mods (\steamapps\common\Train Sim World 5\WindowsNoEditor\TS2Prototype\Content\DLC). You don't even need to enable the mastery overlay.
Please do not confuse the SW1500 showing up in the Menu without having the SFJ MP15DC DLC installed, with the loco actually working in-game. If you don't own SFJ MP15DC, if you select my CN SW1500 in the menu, and hit Start, the game will just not load for you. You will get infinite loading screen. It's a weird bug DTG should remove, because the DLC is listed as a requirement for my plugin anyway.
