NTP Scenario Planner Paths

This mod doubles the number of paths available for NTP in the scenario planner. It also opens up some routes that were previously completely inaccessible or at least inaccessible in the Scenario Planner, such as to/from Marsden Platform 3, Brewery Curve which runs behind Miles Platting allowing access to Newton Heath from the East and the freight train routing through Heaton Lodge Junction.

The new paths are:

Leeds City Platform 12 - Manchester Platform 11 Freight(via Heaton Lodge goods line)
Marsden Platform 3 - Leeds City Platform 7
Leeds City Platform 7 - Marsden Platform 3 (via Huddersfield middle road and Platform 1b, so you can overtake a service terminating in 1a)
Huddersfield Siding 2 - Leeds City Siding 7 (via Heaton Lodge goods line)
Huddersfield Siding 1 - Leeds City Siding 6 (via Heaton Lodge goods line)
Huddersfield Siding 4 - Leeds Platform 5 (via Heaton Lodge goods line)
Huddersfield Siding 3 - Hillhouse 10
Holbeck MPD 10 - Leeds City Siding 2
Leeds City Siding 1 - Manchester Platform 11 West
Leeds City Platform 10 - Manchester Platform 7 (via Hudderfield Platform 1a, watch your stopping point)
Holbeck MPD 11 - Huddersfield Siding 6
Manchester Platform 7 - Leeds City Platform 1
Stalybridge Platform 1 - Leeds City Platform 6b Freight (via Heaton Lodge goods line)
Manchester Platform 16 - Leeds City Platform 9b Freight (via Heaton Lodge goods line)
Leeds City Platform 5 - Manchester Platform 14 Freight (via Heaton Lodge goods line)
Newton Heath Depot - Manchester P6
Newton Heath Depot - Manchester P8
Manchester Platform 8 - Newton Heath Depot
Manchester Platform 6- Newton Heath Depot
Manchester Platform 16 - Leeds Platform 5 (via Huddersfield Platform 4)
Huddersfield Siding 4 - Leeds Platform 6 (via Heaton Lodge goods line)
Stalybridge Bay - Newton Heath Depot

Paths created by this mod have an asterix (*) at the end of the name so you can distinguish between default paths and the ones created by this mod.

All paths marked as freight or which start/end at a siding will use the goods routing at Heaton Lodge (i.e. you will not use the dive under line, watch out for the low speed limit at Ravensthorpe). When heading west these services will also use the middle road at Huddersfield, so you can't start/stop these paths at Huddersfield.

The sidings at Huddersfield are numbered from left to right if you are facing West, so sidings 1 and 2 are to the south of platform 1, the other sidings are north of Platform 8.

Known Issues

Paths from Holbeck MPD:

You must tick the box to stop at the siding listed as an intermediate stopping point, this is a reversing point and the path won't work without it.

Holbeck MPD 11 - Huddersfield Siding 6:

Please be aware that if you start an AI service from MPD 11 it will get stuck at the set of points leading to MPD Siding 4 (the reversing point), you have to set the points manually to the correct siding. If using this path for an AI service I recommend starting it from Holbeck MPD Siding 4 to avoid this problem.

Really nice work!

Im just curious, is there a special editor, software or tool needed to do path extenxions? Im currently working on a "no hud" chart with track diagrams for cathcart circle and the depots. Unfortunately i cant go (test) all the paths i wish to. Also with scenario planner newton to neilston isnt possible as well not the "turn around" sidings.

Hi, I used the Unofficial Editor by Will and Trainsimcz to edit the scenario designer file, this file is quite straightforward, it lists the available paths with each path made up of a list of map markers. To add a new path the only trick is to load all the map tiles that start with "TT_" in the editor first, as these contain the definitions for the markers, then it's as easy as pressing the plus button and selecting the markers you want from drop down boxes.

The marker lookup table in the scenario file only sets the maximum length of a train allowed in each location, the marker needs to already exist in a map tile. If you specify a location that has not been previously used in the scenario designer you will need to work out the maximum length yourself. If you get it wrong and specify too large a value, and a user attempts to place a train there that doesn't fit, TSW will not like it and they will find themselves dropped in a random location at the start of the scenario. Also I don't think it's currently possible to add markers to a map, or at least I don't know how to do that.

The most time consuming aspect of the whole process is working out exactly which location each map marker is referring to when it says "Siding 11" for example and then of course testing in game that you haven't inadvertently created a path that won't work. The editor will let you create impossible paths, there is no validation, you only realise your mistake when the train doesn't move.

Discovered this mod via the DTG forums and very impressed with the new paths opened up by it.
Just joined up here at TSC as a result and hoping for more of the same.
