In the late 90s the first locos of the BR 101 started appearing on long distance services in Germany. With this mod, the IC, EC and IR services in the Linke Rheinstrecke: Mainz - Koblenz timetable can be driven with the BR 101 where it substitutes the BR 103.
The substitution probability is set to 0.05 so roughly 5 % of the AI trains should be driven by the BR 101.

The TSW 4 version of the mod uses the "AssetRegistry workaround", a method actively discouraged by DTG. Nevertheless, it currently represents the sole viable approach to ensure the mod functions properly. Please be aware that the mod may cease to function if DTG makes alterations to the add-ons manager or modding procedures. Additionally, there could be unforeseen side effects that escaped notice during testing.

yo can you maybe make a tutorial on how I can make substitutions of one train onto another? I am still new to modding and could need a bit of help with that :)
Short advice in general: take a look into the pak with FModel and just try to understand what's in there.
A few bullet points about how I did this mod:
- I looked for all formations where I wanted the BR 101 to appear (two files in this case). In there I edited the entry for the BR 103.
- I set
Allow Substitutionto have it enabled. - I added "DB InterCity" to the
Valid Geographic Regions(the 101's RVD has "DB InterCity" defined) - I set the
Substitution Probabilityto 0.05
All of this was done with the unofficial editor. As this is a mod that replaces files I also had to add the AssetRegistry to the pak so the assets get recognized by add on manager.
thank you. sorry for replying so late, in case you were waiting for an answer. are the valid geographic regions in the 103's formations? haven't looked into any of this yet but I will if DTG fixes a certain issue of the editor (disappearing files).

Yes the regions are in the 103 formations.
The AssetRegistry is just a completely empty file named „AssetRegistry.bin“. Bu you can also steal it from another mod by extracting it.

It's quiet a good mod! Unfortunately with Expert 101 doors of red IC coaches don't open, so the ride isn't successful. Will you fix it?
That isn't something I can fix. The Expert 101 would need to be made compatible with the IC coaches by TSG.
You can jump out of the loco and open the first door manually... Then the counter works at least. But not very immersive, I know... but still a workaround
