Unused Horn and Bell: MBTA CTC-3 - MBTA Commuter & MBTA Providence/Stoughton Line HSP46 Add-On

In the files of the CTC-3 Cab Car for Boston - Worcester, there are horn and bell sound samples that go unused, similar to how the MBTA Commuter F40PH-3C enginesounds went initially unused before being later added in the game (These sounds were also transfered over to the CTC-3 cab car from the MBTA Providence/Stoughton Line HSP46 as that gameplay pack contains a seperate but carbon-copy version of the CTC-3 from Boston - Worcester). This mod replaces the default horn and bell sounds with the unused samples. This mod also fixes the interior horn air release sounds that were wierdly spaced out when sounding the horn.

These sounds were recorded off of a CTC-1 cab car instead of a CTC-3 cab car, which is likley the reason why these sounds go unused. However it is possible that these sounds may be properly be included in the game in the future without the use of this mod.

NOTE: This mod will NOT work with the Boston Sprinter CTC-3 cab car (the version released alongside the route when TSW2 Rush Hour was released), as that locomotive is outdated and unsupported by DTG's standards, whereas the MBTA Commuter & the MBTA Providence/Stoughton Line HSP46 CTC-3 cab car is currently and continuously being supported and updated by DTG.

Been waiting for a horn sound mod for these for the longest cause the default is awful and you nailed this. Thank you for this! It would be a bit cooler if the sound can be heard a bit further away from the locomotive as it's dead silence from a short distance. Other then that thank you again for this!

Thank you very much. I don't have much knowledge on how to adjust the distance of the horn just yet, but eventually I will get to it!

can you also release a combined file with horn and bell in 1 file?

Why would you need a combined file when you can just download both?

Agreed with Stexred, it would make sense with the amount of mods many of us use, if many could be combined, it may make loading a bit better when there are 300+ being loaded.

Only reason why I have it in two separate files is in case one prefers using one of the sounds that are already installed on the CTC-3 while using one of the unused sounds. For example, one might like using the unused horn, but probably don't like using the unused bell sound (and vice versa).

Understood and makes sense, did not think of that at first, how about combining them as another option, that is, if it's not too much trouble.
