MODDERS NOTES:
This mod aims to adjust several of the default sounds on all of the Metrolink Locomotives and Passenger coaches, associated with both the Antelope Valley and San Bernardino route (this also includes both the seperate Metrolink Holiday Train pack and the F59PHR DLC's). These changes range from making some of the default sound cues and samples louder, to implementing doppler effects in several of the external cues, to adding missing sounds that should've been linked on certain areas of each particular locomotive or passenger coach. In addition to the sound adjustments, passenger ambience, a TSW6 core feature, has been implemented on all passenger coaches, as well as railsinging from NEC: Stamford.
This is NOT a locomotive sound enhancement pack. All of the default sound samples in this mod that have been adjusted here have not been changed, as I personally felt like a majority of the default recordings DTG set out to make were good enough to not be changed (save for the Bombardier coaches, which had a majority of it's default sounds swapped with the Rotems, as the default sounds were reused from the Caltrain versions, in which the sounds on those ones were reused from the Caltrain Gallery Cars).
v1.1 - Released 06/19/26 (First Release) - See List Below for list of changes made:
-Adjusts several sounds of all AVL and SBD rollingstock (including the F59PHR and Xmas DLC)
-Increased Max Channels Count to 1024 sounds on all AVL and SBD related rollingstock to prevent any sound anomalies occurring with the modded sounds.
-Implemented Rail Singing from NYS onto AVL and SBD.
(For a full rundown of the sound changes done on the included locomotives in this mod, please view the dropdown menus of each of the rollingstock below).
Rail Singing:
-Implements Rail Singing feature onto both Antelope Valley, and San Bernardino (Ported from NEC: Stamford). These sounds function exactly the same as they do on NYS, in which noise from the rails ("Rail Singing") will play as the train approaches, as well as the sounds getting louder when the train reaches a faster speed when viewing the train in free camera view.
-Adjusted the Bell, Engine, Dynamic Brake, and Exterior Horn Attenuations
-Slightly lowered the volume of the Exterior Bell
-Implemented doppler effect for the Dynamic Brake fan sounds
-Added missing button sounds to the ATS_Acknowledge button
-Created Exterior Bell and Horn attenuations for farther audio distance, as both the Horn and Bell cues used the default core attenuations.
-Slightly lowered the volume of the Exterior Bell
-Implemented doppler effect for the Exterior HVAC sounds.
-Slightly adjusted both the horn loop and end sound cue
-Implemented Passenger Ambience
Note that all changes implemented here have also been implemented for the MP36PH-3C in my Caltrain Sound Mod for consistency between the two locomotives.
-Adjusted Horn, Bell, Engine, and HEP attenuations so the sounds can be heard from a farther distance
-Adjusted the doppler effect on the exterior compressor sounds.
-Adjusted the doppler effect on the exterior sander sounds.
-Added cab squeaking sounds when operating the train at speed (Ported over from AVL/SBD F125).
-Added phone pick-up/hang-up noises to the contact signaler phone, as well as rattling noises when operating the train at speed (Ported over from AVL/SBD F125).
-Adjusted the enginesound cue so the enginesound is slightly louder both externally and internally.
-Adjusted the doppler effect on the HEP sounds.
-Amplified interior hornsound audio samples to be louder than the default sounds, and slightly shortened the exterior end hornsound audio sample.
-Slightly adjusted sound parameters for the Sun Visors
Note that all changes implemented here have also been implemented for the Bombardier coaches in my Caltrain Sound Mod for consistency between the two coaches.
-Adjusted the Running Master, and Door Audio attenuations
-Adjusted volume and re-adjusted sound class for the Cab Door on the Bombardier Cab Car.
-Adjusted volume and re-adjusted sound class for the end vestibule doors.
-Added Improved Exterior & Interior Running, and Joint sounds (Ported over from AVL/SBD Rotem Coaches)
-Updated Interior occlusion mixes (Ported over from AVL/SBD Rotem Coaches).
-Implemented Passenger Ambience
Default sounds converted from mono single channel to stereo dual channel format:
-Internal HVAC
Known Issues:
-Due to the lack of audio sockets for the exterior HVAC specifically on the Metrolink Bombardier Coaches, the exterior HVAC sounds have not been implemented
-Adjusted the exterior running sounds so they are heard closer to the engine.
-Implemented unused fast running sound sample recordings as the fast sound samples used by default are from the SBD MP36PH-3C. Adjusted the external and internal running sound cue.
-Added rattling sounds to the Fuse cabinet door, blind, and fire extinguisher as the sockets for these existed for the other rattling cues to be linked, but never were. Slightly adjusted the volume of the rattling cues.
-Added missing sounds to the brake cutout, HEP & Trainline switches, Independent brake handle & bail-off, MU Emergency Stop Button, Alarm silencer, Fuse Cabinet, and the light switches for the left & right reading lights, as well as the nose light switches. (Ported from SBD MP36PH-3C) For some strange reason, the cues existed for these sounds and were linked to their respective buttons & levers, but the sound samples themselves were never implemented
-Corrected sounds linked to the contact signaller phone to more accurate phone pick-up/hang-up noises (Ported over from AVL/SBD F125).
