MODDERS NOTES:
This mod aims to adjust several of the default sounds on all of the MBTA Locomotives and Passenger coaches, associated with the Boston Worceste route, and the MBTA Providence/Stoughton Line HSP46 gameplay pack. These changes range from making some of the default sound cues and samples louder, to implementing doppler effects in several of the external cues, to adding missing sounds that should've been linked on certain areas of each particular locomotive or passenger coach. In addition to the sound adjustments, passenger ambience, a TSW6 core feature, has been implemented on all passenger coaches, as well as railsinging from NEC: Stamford.
This is NOT a locomotive sound enhancement pack. All of the default sound samples in this mod that have been adjusted here have not been changed, as I personally felt like a majority of the default recordings DTG set out to make were good enough to not be changed (although the unused horn on the MBTA Commuter and HSP46 Gameplay CTC-3 have horn and bell samples that go unused that sound better than the default horn, as well as the original BPE F40PH-3C horn in my opinion sounding better than the new version DTG recorded, of which I have made seperate mods for both of them, see the depencies section to download them.)
v1.1 - Released 06/19/26 (First Release) - See List Below for list of changes made:
-Adjusts several sounds of all BOW and BPE (gameplay pack) rollingstock
-Increased Max Channels Count to 1024 sounds on all BOW and BPE (gameplay pack) related rollingstock to prevent any sound anomalies occurring with the modded sounds.
-Implemented Rail Singing from NYS onto BPE (route) and BOW.
(For a full rundown of the sound changes done on the included locomotives in this mod, please view the dropdown menus of each of the rollingstock below).
Rail Singing:
-Implements Rail Singing feature onto both Boston - Providence, and Boston - Worcester (Ported from NEC: Stamford). These sounds function exactly the same as they do on NYS, in which noise from the rails ("Rail Singing") will play as the train approaches, as well as the sounds getting louder when the train reaches a faster speed when viewing the train in free camera view.
-Adjusted the volume of the phone pickup/hangup sounds
-Adjusted the doppler effect for the Brake Squeal sounds
-Adjusted the bell start sound to be equally as loud as the bell end sound
-Added doppler effect to the external compressor
-Adjusted the doppler effect of the external running sounds
-Adjusted the doppler effect of the traction motors
-Adjusted the volume and mixing of the external bell
-Adjusted the doppler effect of the exterior running sounds
-Implemented unused external HVAC noises.
-Adjusted the doppler effect of the exterior horn
-Implemented Passenger Ambience
Default sounds converted from mono single channel to stereo dual channel format:
-External Horn
-External Bell
-Adjusted the doppler effect of the external bell
-Added phone pick-up/hang-up noises to the contact signaler phone, as well as rattling noises when operating the train at speed (Ported over from AVL/SBD F125).
-Added cab squeaking sounds when operating the train at speed (Ported over from AVL/SBD F125).
-Significantly adjusted the volume of the external enginesounds. Slightly adjusted the volume of the internal enginesounds
-Adjusted the volume of the exterior HEP sounds to be as loud as the external enginesounds
-Adjusted the doppler effect of the external horn
Default sounds converted from mono single channel to stereo dual channel format:
-External Bell
-Created internal horn/bell attenuation and adjusted the external horn and bell attenuations so the sounds can be heard from a farther distance.
-Adjusted the volumes of the bell cue, both externally and internally
-Adjusted the starting interior horn air release sounds that are weirdly spaced out when sounding the horn by default.
-Adjusted the mixing so the exterior bell is not heard in the interior of the coaches
-Implemented Passenger Ambience
Default sounds converted from mono single channel to stereo dual channel format:
-Exterior and Interior Bell
Known Issues:
-For some reason, when opening either the driver or passenger window in the cab car when the bell is activated, the external bell is MUCH louder from the interior. Not sure if this is an audio socket issue, or if it can be fixed.
