For too long has the RABe 523 sounded like garbage in TSW, and me and Raphael have worked to bring it an audio upgrade that should have been long overdue with Rivet Games by now. Check below for some of the cool new sound enhancements brought to the FLIRT in this mod:
Greater Inverter Detail
- Raphael's TSC soundset includes carrier baseband and sideband spread
- Includes separate interior and exterior recordings
- Also feature magnetisation sounds only heard in driving mode
- Inverter always modulates while coasting per reality (old ABB Bordline Compact Converter)
Real Gearbox Audio
- Done away with all the fake Rivet bull-
- Plethora of gearbox recordings done by Raphael of a real FLIRT 1
- Cog meshing can be heard while coasting - FLIRT 1 / FLIRT 2 only
- Separate exterior and interior sounds
New Running Sounds
- Real interior recordings of the FLIRT 1 make the sense of speed much more realistic
- New exterior samples also include distant running recordings for improved passing audio
Better Flange Squeal
- Reusing a popular soundset from previous sound mods to bring more variety
- Additionally includes slow speed and high speed flange sounds
More Lively Track Joints
- Many more track joint samples taken from the Flexx bogies used on UK trains improve the quality and variety of track sounds
- Audio is also speed-dependent with separate interior and exterior recordings that improve the feel at high velocity
- Interior joint sounds include the sound of the flexicoil damper
Improved Horn
- Crispier and clearer horn is much more responsive
- Boasts much greater echo to improve the sense of loudness
Other Miscellaneous Audio
- Includes FLIRT aircon recordings for the interior, exterior, and cab
- Also features new brake hiss and period air release sounds while running
Known Issues
- Separate interior horn is not practically feasible with the mod due to how old and the way this train DLC has been set up
- Passing train audio inside the car may be obscured
