UP Black Butte Subdivision

Like a sleeping giant, Mount Shasta dominates the southern Cascade Range of Northern California. It dwarfs everything in sight, including the iron horses that traversed the path for the past 130 years. Carved out of the base of a volcano, this highway, paved with steel, has been a vital link for the Pacific Northwest and California.

It's 110 Route Miles of the Black Butte Subdivision between Dunsmuir, California. With its peak at Grass Lake, and on to its final destination of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Featuring small bits of BNSF Gateway Subdivision (Sounds famillar) and CORP Siskiyou Subdivision
