Shasta Sunset Stack Train

Description

Union Pacific symbol ZLCBR was a daily stack train running from Los Angeles to Portland via the I-5 corridor. Leaving Los Angeles at night, it climbed out of Dunsmuir in the early evening the following day, usually somewhere between the hours of 6 and 8 PM.

In this scenario, you will be in charge of this train on a warm summer evening, starting your shift in Dunsmuir and wrapping up in Klamath Falls. You have 4 engines and a relatively light train for the subdivision, so this won’t be a difficult run. Starting at 7:40, sunset is nigh, and as you head east you face total darkness.

This is a single scenario with a length of around 3 hours.

Signals actually work most of the time, there is a single signal that is green where it should be red, but follow along with the dispatcher and you’ll know where to stop.

Obviously, this scenario takes place during sunset and night, and without AP both look terrible. This is truly a scenario that requires AP weather to enjoy it.

As usual, all payware requirements are linked below, the rest is freeware and is linked in the manual, as is more prototype info.
